So, from the soles of our hiking boots to the brims of our caps, we are grateful to our project supporters and to those great companies that have been sending us gear. Here’s a little more on the people and organizations who are helping us out.
Pack Paddle Ski: PPS and its fearless, tireless, and joyous leader Rick French is a force in our lives. He and his organization are committed to helping others discover themselves and transform their communities while embracing adventure and the outdoors along the way.
Nick’s Fund: Julie and Ray Egan established Nick’s Fund at PPS after their son, Nick, died tragically and suddenly earlier this year. Nick was a beloved member of the PPS community, an accomplished outdoorsman, and a young philanthropist. This year, Ben will be the first recipient of Nick’s Fund—a scholarship Nick’s family established at PPS to honor their son and to support a young person who is raising money to explore the world and help make it a better place.
The Kade Project: Chance brought Deb Milne Obrien and her Kade Project together. When she heard about what we were trying to do and what kind of kid Ben was, she and her not-for-profit gave him a scholarship to support his efforts to climb Kili and help kids along the way. The Kade Project is named after her son, who passed tragically a few years ago, and helps young people from Honeoye Falls infuse good and service into this world.
KB Graphics: Jessie’s dad, Charlie Olin, co-owns this company which offers a full range of printing and promotional services including printed materials, imprinted products, and branded material. The Olins support runs deep and our connection and commitment to them is unwavering. rinted material, imprinted products and branded apparel.
RockVentures: Our neighbor and good friend, Kent Winchester, operates RockVentures. Kent is an accomplished outdoorsman and educator who is committed to doing business and living life in a way that serves others. His commitment to veterans, inner city youth, and others is a testament to that.
There are some phenomenal gear companies out there who are behind our project. From Vasque (if you didn’t catch it already, Ben and I are now Vasque ambassadors) to Osprey, Grand Trunk Goods, Granite Gear, Nalgene, and Point6. Thanks for sending us items that will help us reach new heights!
Together we can move mountains!
